Upper Catawba Falls

A beautiful free-fall, ending in a split cascade into a deep pool.

Directions

Driving

There is currently no safe public access to this waterfall.

Trail

This falls can theoretically be reached by climbing up the scramble path from the lower falls. However, that equates more to technical climbing than hiking (think ropes and harnesses), and is NOT recommended, until a safer path is established. The Forest Service says it plans on developing a better trail in their Schedule of Proposed Actions, so hopefully this will pan out soon.
